Taping and the importance of taping

It is possible to stimulate or relax a particular muscle, reduce pain, inflammation, edema or haematoma by means of medicinal taping. It can be used to correct posture, manage pain, and protecting joints.

The roots of medicinal taping go back to the 1970s in the Far East – Japan and Korea. In English, the word ‘tape’ means ‘a bandage, a plaster’.

This method is interesting. What differentiates it from others is that no medications are used in order to achieve the necessary effect, which is important for pregnant women, athletes (who are subject to doping control), and others. Also, after a tape has been applied, a person is able to move, train or exercise without any restrictions caused by the tape, which is impossible while using an orthosis or an elastic bandage.

Tape consists of cotton and acrylic glue. Its features match the characteristics of the skin; therefore, it can be worn for approximately seven days. It is elastic, breathable, waterproof and non-allergenic.

The price of the service depends on the amount of material used and the time it took to apply the tape. It may vary from 5 EUR to 22 EUR.
